मध्य प्रदेश के कटनी जिले के स्लीमनाबाद में बरगी नहर परियोजना की एक निर्माणाधीन सुरंग के धंसने से नौ मजदूर फंस गए। राहत अभियान के तहत सात मजदूरों को बचा लिया गया है। SDERF की टीम लोकल अधिकारियों के साथ फंसे हुए बाकी मजदूरों को सुरक्षित निकालने की कोशिश कर रही है। घटना शनिवार की है। कटनी कलेक्टर प्रियांक मिश्रा ने बताया कि जबलपुर से SDERF की टीम पहुंची। जिला कलेक्टर और एसपी बचाव अभियान की निगरानी के लिए घटनास्थल पर डेरा डाले हुए हैं।
हादसे के बाद 30 फीट तक गहराई में मिट्टी भरने से रेस्क्यू में परेशानी हो रही थी। टीम ने मिट्टी हटाने के लिए गड्ढा किया है, ताकि मजदूरों को सुरक्षित निकाला जा सके।

These laborers are buried about 9 meters below, from where their voice can be clearly heard. A green corridor has been made to take the injured laborers to Jabalpur Medical College Hospital and Katni District Hospital.

The TVM machine was at a depth of about 80 feet from the surface in the underground tunnel. To rectify the fault in the machine, the work of digging a well-like pit was going on. It was being paved with bricks and cement with about 25 feet being excavated. Meanwhile, the two parts collapsed.
NVDA (Narmada Valley Development Authority) Executive Engineer Sahaj Srivastava said that the laborers trapped below are safe. He has suffered minor injuries. The rescue team has gone inside and talked to the laborers and oxygen has been arranged for the workers who are deep inside.
