About Voter List Reforms Program 2024

The State Chief Electoral Officer's office will begin a program of quick revision of electoral rolls throughout the state on August 20, 2024, in order to establish a perfect, up-to-date electoral roll and to include voters who turned 18 on January 1, 2025, in the new electoral roll. The state election system will begin a special temporary electoral roll modification effort following the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

The booth-level police will begin conducting house-to-house surveys throughout the state on August 20. whereby the list of voters who have migrated, passed away, and registered more than once will be trimmed, and the list of young people who turned 18 on January 1, 2025, and eligible citizens who are not yet registered to vote will be added.

As directed by the Election Commission of India, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer is making diligent efforts to guarantee that the greatest number of voters—including women, people with disabilities, and young people—participate and register their names on the electoral roll in order to exercise their right to vote. Applications for the addition, deletion, and correction of names in the voter list may be submitted between October 29, 2024, and November 28, 2024, following the completion of the house-to-house survey from October 19 to October 28, 2024, using forms Nos. 1 through 8. The consolidated voter list will then be prepared and the draft voter list will be published on October 29, 2024.

These applications will be processed by December 24, 2024, and the voter list will be finalized on January 6.

From 19th October-2024 to 28th October-2024 Form no. 1 to 8 and the consolidated voter list will be prepared and the draft voter list will be published on 29th October-2024.

From 29th October-2024 to 28th November-2024, applications for addition, reduction and correction of names in the voter list can be applied for.

These applications will be disposed of by 24th December-2024 and final publication of the voter list will be done on 6th January.

The Election Commission of India issues voter identification cards, sometimes referred to as "Voter Registration Cards" or "Election Cards," to Indian residents.   • Passport size color photo
  • Birth Certificate
  • / Passport / Driving License / Pancard in ID proof
  • Ration Card/Passport/Driving License
  • Phone Bill or Light Bill in Address Proof

How to Apply Election Card at Home

– To apply online for Election Card go to https://voters.eci.gov.in/ and click on Form 6 option appearing on the left side.
– After this create your ID with mobile number and login.
– After login again click on form 6 option. After that select your state, district and city.
– Enter your important information like mobile number, address, constituency.
– After this enter the Election Card Number (Voter ID Number) and Name of your parents.
– After this enter Aadhaar number, date of birth and upload Aadhaar card photo and birth certificate photo.
– Finally enter captcha code and click submit form.
– Election card will reach your home within about 1 month after submission of form.
– After submission you will get a receipt number with which you can check the status of your voter form anytime after a week.
– Even if your form gets rejected, you will get its information from this number.

How Can I Apply for a Voter ID Card in India?

  • Visit the official website of the Election Commission and select your state from the drop-down menu to access the state-specific Chief Electoral Officer page.
  • Create a new account by providing your basic details, such as your first name, last name, email ID, mobile number, and gender. If you already have an account, log in using your credentials.
  • After logging in, change your password for security purposes.
  • Choose the “Form 6” or “Application for including name in assembly constituency voters list” option.
  • Fill in the form accurately and attach a recent passport-sized color photograph.
  • Submit the form online.
  • Visit the nearest voter ID facilitation center with the required supporting documents, including proof of address and identity, to complete the verification process.
  • Alternatively, you can directly visit a voter ID facilitation center, obtain Form 6, and apply for a voter registration card by submitting the necessary documents.
