The cyclonic storm named 'Fengal' is likely to reach Puducherry on the afternoon of November 30. During this period, the wind speed can reach 90 km per hour.


Will hit on Saturday afternoon

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the deep depression formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclone. Currently, the system is centered 380 km southeast of Chennai. Once it transforms into a storm, it is likely to move northwestwards and make landfall between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram by Saturday afternoon.






Heavy rains will occur in this place

The Meteorological Department said that the cyclone has been officially named Fengal. Heavy rains are expected in some areas of south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on Friday and Saturday. Along with this, the possibility of heavy rain has been expressed in districts like Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati and Annamaya.


Fishermen advised to stay away from the sea

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of winds of 75 kilometers per hour in the southern sea areas. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. Fishermen who are in the sea have been urged to return to the coast immediately.
