How the accident happened
Early this morning, a bus going from Naini Danda to Ramnagar got stuck in a ditch on the banks of Geet Jagir river. In which more than 15 people have died. While many people have been injured. There are reports of bus breakdown near Sarad Bandh.
More than 15 people died
Almora Disaster Management Officer Vineet Pal said that more than 15 passengers have died. However, the death toll is likely to rise. Rescue is underway by the team. How many passengers have died in the accident will be known only after the rescue.
More than 35 people were on board the bus
More than 35 passengers were on board the 42 seater bus. Some passengers got out of the bus themselves after the accident. Some people got separated and fell down as the bus tumbled into the valley. The injured informed others. Relief and rescue operations are going on at the scene. The injured have been shifted to the hospital. SSP Almora has also rushed to the spot.
